The goal of Catechesis / Faith Formation is communion with Jesus Christ. It forms the personality of the believer into the model of Jesus. The word comes from the Greek meaning "to echo." Catechesis echoes the Word and the words of Christ.
Catechesis is far more than an education in the facts of faith. It promotes the Trinitarian experience of life in Christ as the center of the life of faith. It is to have faith in the three persons of the Trinity, to hope in them and to love them. It opens our hearts to receive the three greatest gifts: Faith, Hope and Charity. Further, it concerns knowing, believing, trusting and loving ourselves and each other.
